What are the pros? Great taste. fat and meaty
What are the cons? Later yields are smaller
I love jersey giants for the taste and unique shape. I grow these every year it seems along with others I switch off. These are some of the few I eat right off the vine. I use these also in place of where I'd normally use or eat Roma tomatoes. Don't hesitate to try these out. Go ahead and add these to your cart.

What are the pros? Very Hardy and easy to grow

When starting these seeds indoors, I had forgotten they were paste tomatoes because the picture on the seed pack didn't look like a paste tomato. So when the fruit started to form I just thought I mislabeled the seedlings. Only after re-visiting the website did I realize these are the fruit I was supposed to get. Had I known this, I would have planted a whole bed of these as I also planted a bed of San Marzanos. These are much bigger which makes the whole canning process a lot easier and the taste is as good or better than SM's. I will certainly be planting at least one bed of these next season. We had a good year in the Raleigh area of NC (not too hot) and they produced well and ripened when expected as I've read a few reviews of them ripening late in the season. I guess weather conditions have as much to do with that aspect as anything else. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants a great tasting sauce tomato with half the work.

These are bigger than my hands and the tops for gourmet sauce. They are late in my garden but I still love them.

I have grown Jersey Giant's for the past 3 years & love them. The flavor is fantastic - great for fresh eating, salsa, sauce, canning, freezing, everything... They are big & meaty with few seeds.
We live in the White Mountains in northern AZ at 7000 ft elevation. This year was especially tough for gardening. We had a very dry spring & early summer, late frost, lots of wind. This was followed by 2 months of rain & cool temps. My tomatoes got off to a slow start, but once the rain started, grew like crazy, but due to the rain & cool temps they didn't begin to ripen until mid-August, & got hit with an early frost mid-September. Despite the difficult conditions, the jersey giants produced tons (I had buckets of green tomatoes ripening in the house after the frost). They also did not crack badly & maintained excellent flavor even when other varieties got bland & watery from the rain & lack of sun.
This variety needs to stick around!

I grew these tomatoes to make salsa out of them, there are little seeds, and lots of meat. Did I meant that the plant produce EXTREMELY well. We like to eat them plain and loved canning with them, they are a must every year.
