Stunning but slow
Easy to Grow 4.5
EarlyMaturity 1.0

What are the pros? Beautiful

What are the cons? Very slow to grow

This is a stunning plant, so much so that I photographers it and left it in the garden as a “flower” accent. When finally harvested, the flavor was sweet and leaves were crisp. The negatives were the time needed to harvest, the relatively small harvest for the plant size, and the unfortunate attraction by snails. I started these indoors where they quickly germinated. Then placed 8 in the ground in November 2017. They struggled and were almost immediately devoured by snails. Completely stripped of all foliage. Thinking they had lost their lives, I forgot about them. In June 2018, I noticed 2 cabbage like plants emerging like small purple aliens. By August, I had two large stunning plants, each bearing a single head. Truly beautiful. I think these are best planted where there is an abundance of space as well as an area not haunted by snails who devour tender growth at first sight. Beautiful as an accent plant
