What are the pros? Very healthy!
What are the cons? A bit bland taste
This squash was the only one (out of five or so different) I grew this summer that I actually got more than one squash from. After a chilly (or cold!) early season we were hit by warm, dry weather just as I went on vacation. I came back home to a dry squash patch that I watered and then left for another couple of weeks. Came back and it was dry again. To top it off I had planted everything way too tightly. Naturally everything was struck by mildew, and I only got one cucumber and one squash from each plant before they withered away, except for the Kamo Kamo that survived until fall and gave me three cute fruits that lasted until january (still one left).
I didn't taste any young ones, but the mature ones are nice but a bit bland and not sweet compared to "normal" winter squash. And the peel is much more woody than it is in winter squash (after cooking). I still really like it.
I will definitely grow it again!
