What are the pros? A beautiful plant
What are the cons? No flavor, no fragrance
I found this plant to be a total disappointment from a culinary standpoint. It has none of the fragrance of flavor expected from Shiso. It is beautiful and would make a great ornamental plant but don't expect this cultivar to do double duty in the garden. I give it 2 stars because I grew this with the expectation of using it in traditional Japanese cooking and couldn't.
