75 days. (also known as First Early) Super-early dwarf variety reaches only about 18" tall, requiring no staking. Highly recommended for successive sowings: also a great variety for container planting or cold-frame growing. Produces heavy crops of sweet, small peas, often eight per pod; typically yields two fat pods per node. Resistant to pea wilt and downy mildew.

What are the pros? Early Maturing

What are the cons? Didn't re-blossom

Review:

We planted several different varieties of peas this year. We had a weird spring with multiple large rains (3-5 inches each). About 75% of these germinated. We staked one row of them and didn't stake the other. They both did well though the ones we didn't stake didn't grow as tall as the staked ones. They produced a moderate amount of pods early but typically peas in our area re-blossom and these did not (not sure if it was due to the weather or not). The pods were easy to open and the peas were delicious. Typically the pods had 2-6 peas per pod and they were small to medium peas. Very flavorful. We all loved them.

What are the pros? Fast growing, easy to shell

What are the cons? Stake

Review:

This is a very quick growing pea. It DOES need to be staked. It needs to be shelled.. The skin is too tough to eat as is.

What are the pros? Perfect peas for shelling

What are the cons? none

Review:

These peas are ideal. The long pods give the peas room so they aren't crowded, and each is a round, glossy wonder, so delicious and sweet!

What are the cons? DOES require staking

Review:

They say it doesn't require staking but it absolutely does. Mine are all laying on the ground because I believed what I read about no staking needed

Review:

I first found these peas in France, where they are called Merveille de Kelvedon. I loved them but had trouble finding them to grow again. They didn't seem to travel well when shipped and those seeds never germinated. I was thrilled to find that Baker Creek is now supplying them.
