What are the pros? Fun, easy to grow, delicious?

What are the cons? Long season

If I was to grow only one cucurbit in my garden, it would be this one! Last year I waited (perhaps a bit too long) to plant until the soil was well warmed and I got about 75% germination. From then on, the plants grew like weeds! I trellised them on a four foot mesh trellis and had to train the vines on several times. For the first two? months or so there was only foliage and then an explosion of flowers afterward. I fertilized them once and thickly mulched them with hay, which greatly improved things. Once the fruits started ripening I was harvesting them daily and actually had to throw away some excess. The flavor is unique, and I and my little brothers and sisters loved it. Since I trimmed and wrapped the vines on the trellis so many times, there's?no telling how long they? actually got. They kept pumping out fruits until nighttime temps got in the forties. An amazing, easy crop that I have planted again this year! Highly recommended for any deep south gardener!
