What are the pros? great taste, so easy to grow
What are the cons? can be seedy
Planted for an ornamental in my garden. Didn't expect to like the flavor but these are delicious.
Planted two rounds, first in May and again in late July. Both did very well in western Tennessee heat.
Grew first round on and near trellis. Those on ground produced fine but the leaves were diseased. Those on the trellis did well. These continued producing even after leaves started turning. We had them up until it frosted in late October.
If left on vine too long, which was when they darkened to a deep yellow almost orange color, they were very seedy. Picked earlier, not so much.
They didn't keep very long in the fridge-- just a couple days.
