What are the pros? Robust, bloomy, loved by all
What are the cons? Top heavy topplers
These guys are gigantic, ten feet up, they also have a million flowers, and both the finches and the bees adore them to pieces, literally in the finches' case.
They are easy to grow and they volunteer like nothing else, they shield lots of fat seeds that will make squirrels and jays fight for the privilege to eat them.
All in all great!
Unfortunately, the tons of flowers and the gigantic stalks will make these guys very top heavy, and they will topple over eventually, long before being done.
Mine did just that right now, narrowly missing my peppers, and it breaks your heart seeing the poor bees working as hard as possible on flowers that will be gone by tomorrow.
If you can somehow bolster them, give them a go, they are great, otherwise do like I'm doing right now and look for a smaller variety!
