A stunning burst of fruity flavor and vibrant color makes this our most exciting new hot pepper! This colorful new “heirloom” was introduced by New Mexico State University. A sunny lemon yellow variety, it was bred using natural backcrossing techniques, resulting in an extra spicy and super eye-catching fruit. The Numex series was created in response to America’s increasing appreciation for eating a rainbow of nutrition. Super ornamental and extremely prolific, well adapted to the hot, dry New Mexican climate. This variety has major eye appeal and stands out in salsas and other fresh prepartations; the color is stunning and really pops. Edible landscaping is a breeze with lemon spice; the sturdy plants are covered in bright globes. Great for mixed bed or container planting. Thanks to Jim Duffy of Refining Fire Chilis for bringing this exciting new find to our attention!

What are the pros? Good addition to the garden.

What are the cons? Could be a little hotter

Review:

My first year with this pepper and its been very productive. Last week got my first one fully ripened and I was surprised at the sweetness. It has mild heat with a thick crunchy flesh.and they go from green to yellow very rapidly.

What are the pros? High Yeild, Nice Heat!!!

What are the cons? none

Review:

These have to be the best Jalapenos ive ever grown. The bushes are packed with good sized peppers. Be patient with them, once they start turning yellow you will be picking them every day. I was also surprised with the heat. Mine have a nice kick to them.

What are the pros? Stand out in the bed.

What are the cons? That I didn't plant more.

Review:

Cool Pepper to grow. Super productive. They start out looking like regular jalapenos and then once they get big there will be a spot of yellow on them, the next day they will be half yellow and the third day they will be completely yellow. I am freezing them as they ripen so at the end of the season I can make a yellow jalapeno hot sauce.

Review:

This is my first time with these and I'm quite happy with them. I started them in an unheated hoop-house in mid January, put them in the ground in mid march. They are growing well and producing like crazy. I've been adding them to salsa and making jelly with them. It looks like I'll have at least another month of them. Strong growers.

What are the pros? Fast to germinate, grows fast

What are the cons? none so far

Review:

Purchased these in February and immediately planted them once i got them. I had 5-7 day germ rate and so far they are about 6 inches tall. Will be growing these next to habanero to spice them up. First time growing and will definitely keep it from year to year.
