What are the pros? Grew easily, no disease issues
What are the cons? Tough skin, slow maturing.
Tried these for the first time this year. I was given a plant and warned that they are prone to splitting, but I found if you keep them watered it rarely happens. Learned the key to when they are ripe is when you can gently twist/tug and they come off the plant. The flavor is very good. I slice in half and sprinkle with salt. The skins are randomly very tough. These were slow to blossom, and the one plant has grown to 4’ tall but only produced about 15 tomatoes so far, not impressive for a cherry/grape variety. Unlike other types, lots of blossoms do NOT lead to lots of tomatoes. Maybe 2 for 10?
Tomatoes grow well here, and this summer has been unusually hot, with many days in the high 70’s to low 80’s and lots of sun, which they love. Given that, these were a disappointment. I will try them again next year, just in case this was a fluke, because the flavor was quite good. They are not super sweet, but very flavorful.
