What are the pros? extremely flavorful, nice yield
What are the cons? cracks, hard to tell when ripe
You can tell this has been carefully selected for flavor! Even under cooler, suboptimal conditions, the fruit tasted wonderful, which is not very common for tomatoes. Two challenges with this variety: 1) cracks, even when not over-watered and 2) very susceptible to disease (only plant showing significant fungal disease out of 14 varieties). If you have rainy, wet summers, this might not be the best variety for you. Nevertheless, the flavor and yield make up for all the shortcomings, and without a doubt, I will grow this one again next year.
Right after the fruit turns greenish-yellow, wait a few more days before picking (weather dependent of course). It seems if you let them hang on the vine after they turn color, these tomatoes can get very sweet. Once it's slightly soft to the squeeze, it's ready to go, that's how I figured out how to pick them!
