Lunix Lettuce

Oak-leaf type produced lustrous, deep red leaves. Very slow to bolt; the rich red leaves and uptight symmetrical form commend this one for market gardens as well as home gardeners who insist upon superior types. Also highly recommended for hydroponics cultivation and out-of-season low-tunnel production. Rare in this country, and very choice.

What are the pros? Great taste, great visual

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is the champion among my hydroponics plants. All my plugs germinated, germinated first, and are the most voluminous. I have three in a Deep Water Culture setup and about 10 in a homemade hydro tower garden. In my DWC under grow lights with Botanicare Pure Blend Pro Grow, its leaves grow to be upwards of 8" long and 4" wide that don't oak-leaf at all like Baker's photos show. Colors vary by leaf from green to deep purple. In my hydro garden tower using indirect patio sunlight and a mix of Masterblend, the leaves are all deep purple and oak-leaf similar to Baker's photos but still different. Wish I could upload photos here!

Review:

Started plants indoors and transplanted them. They looked rough for awhile but eventually grew into gorgeous almost head type lettuce. Very nice delicate leaves with nice flavor. Nice blended with other lettuces in your salad.

Review:

Really gorgeous dark red color - they are tall and bushy with pointed oak-like leaves and lime-colored hearts. Very easy to grow. Nice flavor, lots of body in a salad.
