Tender and delicious, violet-colored fruit is long and slender. This productive and tasty variety comes from the Southeast Asian country of Malaysia. A hard-to-find but very good variety that is perfect for frying.

What are the pros? Great colour!

What are the cons? None

Review:

I grew the aubergine plants in a greenhouse. It took longer to take off than other type but looks stunning when they start producing fruits, prolific and the plant has medium leaves which doesn’t cover the flowers for the bees to pollinate. I will do early start next year for sure! I love them and I will keep them in my seed catalog! Thank

What are the pros? prolific, easy

What are the cons? none

Review:

These produce so many fruit per plant! They were super easy to grow. The only thing is, the flea beetles made scabs on the fruit, but the inside was still fine.

I am not a big fan of eggplnt but I decided to give this type a try last year. I was pleasantly surprised. It was the best tasting egg plant I had ever had. We had a very dry hot summer and I very rarely watered these plants and still got a lot off of the plants. My only issue was size. Inwasnt sure when to pick them and they seemed smaller than I expected but that may be from lack of experience with growing them or lack of water. Overall I was very happy with them and plan to grow them next year and water them to see if that improves them

Review:

I direct sowed 7 seeds in my garden this past spring. Some didn't come up and needed to be resown, but eventually I ended up with 7 plants. They were situated in a seemingly bad spot of my garden with almost no direct sun, but I really had nowhere else to put them. To my surprise they have been my most productive plants this season, even when they were in complete shade with at most only reflective light. They are still flowering and producing even now, 7 months later. My plants don't produce very long eggplant, maybe 6" at the longest, and for whatever reason some of the fruit turn out bright yellow instead of purple. This may have to do with lack of sunlight, but that's just a guess. Regardless of size and color though, they are delicious and they keep forever on the plant and on the counter. They can withstand our 115 degree summers without issue, the fruits set and they weren't tough or dry at all. I highly recommend planting these if you're an Arizona gardener.

What are the pros? Beautiful and stores well

What are the cons? Small and not very productive

Review:

Unfortunately, this eggplant was not happy in my garden. It was a poor producer, and had some misshapen fruit. However, this variety lasted two or three times longer than my other varieties after being harvested. For that reason, I will try to grow it again and see if I get better production this year.
