What are the pros? Delicious, easy
What are the cons? none
I spent several years trying to find a variety that tasted like the ones my elderly neighbor grew when I was a kid. She was in her 90s in the 1990s, and she used to let me come over and pick her snow peas. They were absolutely delicious, and I looked forward to it every year. As an adult, I expected my first attempt at snow peas to taste like I remembered, but they fell far short (it was Oregon Sugar Pod II, a relatively new variety, but I didn't know that). I don't know if these Mammoth Melting Sugar were what she grew, but I've finally found something that tastes just as good! They were quite easy to grow, too. I tucked them in my front yard and completely forgot to water them since they weren't with the rest of my veggies, and they still did great, although we got so much rain I probably wouldn't have needed to water much if I'd been paying attention anyway. I will be growing these every year from now on.
