What are the pros? Grows well in heat.

What are the cons? Nothing

I grew 40 of these planted in a grid in raised beds spaced at 10 inches. They grew to an average size of 15 pounds, though a couple only made it to 12 and one to 19. The cows loved the tops and after first frost I started feeding the beet. I simply chopped it with a small hatchet and dumped it into their feeders. The first day didn't look promising. By day 4 they were charging me when they saw the beet. They love them. They walk away from grain to have the beets. I have no idea what they taste like, Miss Moo didn't seem inclined to share. This year I'll be tucking one into every unused nook. They were grown in soiled hay from the cows that took a turn through the chicken run before being thrown on top of the beds, so pretty rich stuff. I don't think they would get so large in less fertile soil if so closely spaced.
