Sure to be a new sensation with chefs and foodies alike. Manganji is recognized a traditional cultural vegetable in Kyoto Japan where it is celebrated as the King of Japanese Chili peppers-- contrary to this distinction Manganji is actually a sweet pepper! The complex sweet flavor and soft skin makes this a favorite of traditional home cooks as well as high end chefs. Considered extremely versatile and often the subject of exciting new culinary innovation by some of Kyotos most brilliant culinary masters (Manganji pepper chocolate bars, and candied manganji pepper juice). We are looking forward to seeing this variety on the American culinary scene!

What are the pros? Good grilled taste

What are the cons? Long to ripen red

Review:

Good taste.....the greens are not hot, but when they ripen to red the heat builds. Tasty when grilled with chicken. Peppers get around 8" long x 1-2" thick. Good growth in 5 gallon buckets. Would grow again.

What are the pros? Super easy to grow!

What are the cons? Not my favorite flavor.

Review:

These peppers are super easy to grow and produce about 20 6 to 8 inch long sweet peppers on each plant. That being said these peppers have a vegetable taste (like a cross between a carrot and celery), that is not my favorite. I also don't really like the texture of the raw fruit, it is tougher than I thought it wood be. I am, however, going to recommend this item because the fruit are okay and it is really easy to grow.
