Southeastern Washington State, we've had a mild winter thus far, still going under greenhouse, also did excellent through spring, early summer! This is easy to grow, low maintenance. You can truly grow this all year long.

What are the pros? Easy to grow - delicious!

What are the cons? None

Review:

This is one of the best lettuce varieties in our garden. My husband saves the seed and sprinkles it around in the late summer and fall. The small plants are NOT eaten by slugs (which love overwinter green lettuce varieties) and it has survived seeks of snow and cold (unusual for us in Victoria but this last winter we had lots of minus freezing weather). We start harvesting the lettuce in late February and early March and it is wonderful into May when it starts to bolt. We let a few plants go to seed and voila! we have a new crop for the following year.

What are the pros? easy to grow, gorgeous, tender

What are the cons? none

Review:

Great germination, really fast and vigorous grower. Extremely beautiful, fluffy heads, very tender! The best lettuce I have grown. I can't stop taking pictures of it! Seedlings are super resilient - I started some indoors and direct sowed some, and they have all flourished through the unusual hot and cold spells we've had this year.

What are the pros? taste

What are the cons? nothing

Review:

A great lettuce with really pretty leaves, the pink coloring gets deeper with the cooler temps. Gorgeous heads that expand constantly. My 14 year daughter has name this her favorite lettuce, saying it has the best taste. A very tender leaf, mildly sweet and our favorite variety to use for lettuce wraps. Another variety that gets a permanent spot in out garden.

What are the pros? Good flavor, beautiful color

What are the cons? None

Review:

I barely gave this lettuce a chance to grow. I started building my veggie beds in my new home, only to have flooding rains start. After several weeks of rain, I almost gave up on planting a garden for the season. My toddler begged me to play with the seeds and let him dig. So we took these out and planted them in what will one day be my raised bed garden. They didn't care about the abuse (either from the soil, the lack of irrigation, or the fact that a toddler planted them). In my 3 foot row, after thinning, I have 6-8 beautiful heads of dark red lettuce growing. They have great flavor.
