90 days. A top choice for growers in the North, this is a yellow fleshed version of mountian sweet--a popular variety widely grown in the Northeast in the 1800s. The 20-35 pound fruits have an exceptionally high sugar content and a gorgeous yellow flesh that is firm. This variety is super reliable, plants are productive and fruits are uniformly high quality, making it a top choice for market growers.

What are the pros? Flavor

What are the cons? Size

Review:

These were easy to grow and had a high germination rate. They were the first to grow up and mature in the garden as well. The color is more of a papaya and the flavor is more unique than a regular red. Slightly more tropical if that makes sense. It has large seeds but they are all uniformly present in the fruits. Easy to remove them all in other words. The size is slightly on the small side and fruits are in the 10 pound range. Good for 2-3 people to snack on. I grew these in using my 5 gallon bucket method and they were happy. Concentrated the sugars by reducing the flow rate of my drip emmitter to 2/3rds the normal rate. Gave it just enough water during the hot 95 degree days essentially . Did this for 2 days, then picked the melon right before the next watering time. This seemed to help compared to the last melon I picked. Overall a great melon to grow. Good to eat down to the green and extremely juicy.

What are the pros? Interesting flavor

What are the cons? Too many seeds

Review:

A nice watermelon overall with a different kind of flavor. Somewhat of a watermelon flavor mixed with apricot and papaya. Different but good. I will not grow it again, but others would probably like it.
