It’s no secret that heirloom varieties are preferred by chefs, since they offer peak flavor you won’t find with commercial vegetable varieties. At the Heirloom Expo in Ventura, you can sample the culinary creations of local farmers and food vendors.
A non-profit organization in Ojai, CA, focused on cultivating community by providing access to healthy food and education about the local food system. This year's Expo will feature a pop-up market at the fairgrounds with a variety of healthy, delicious local food and drink.

Volunteer opportunities range from distributing event fliers to farmers’ markets and businesses and setting up the fairgrounds prior to the event to helping at the entry gates, working in the pavilions, and giving breaks to full-time staff. Volunteers work in four-hour shifts and receive a gate pass and meal voucher to use at the end of their shifts.
