What are the pros? Produced beans even in heat.
What are the cons? Not blue during heat.
Most pole beans don't produce well in our hot summers. But Nonnas did. The catch? They will lose the blue during the heat but when it cools down, they produce the beautiful blue beans.

What are the pros? Color
What are the cons? very few actully blue beans
I grew these along Jade portal, which did terribly. These on the other had did OK, but not great. Not very productive, but I at least grew more than I planted, unlike the Jade Portal. I was not impresses with the color, only a few were blue, most were grey, so for growing purposes, and seed stock, these were a loss, as I did not get more "blue" beans as as I planted.

What are the pros? Everything so far.
What are the cons? Nothing so far.
Ordered these later in the year and got them into the ground by the end of July, and they are producing heavy yields of beans. NW fall weather has already set in. I pulled a couple of ripe pods and let them dry. Beans are mostly beautiful cobalt blue, likely the lighter-colored ones could have stayed on the vine longer. Won't be doing taste test this year as I'm looking for seeds, but next year I plan to plant about 20 feet of them along a fence and will definitely leave feedback as to taste, which I'm hoping will be as grand as they look.
What are the pros? No pest problems, good yields
What are the cons? none
These beans were very strong growers with good yields. I had no pest or disease problems with them, and they matured quickly enough from a late planting. From the original 10 seeds, I have harvested almost a quart of shelled beans. The color is a deep blue on most beans, with some lighter beans mixed in.

What are the pros? Beautiful color, great seeds
What are the cons? None
I purchased these on a whim because of how beautiful and rare they are. I started 5 of the seeds late in July against my better judgement (because I simply couldn't wait) to see if I could grow them in my polytunnel as a late crop this year to harvest the seeds for next year (keeping my other 5 seeds for next Spring in case it didn't work out). All 5 germinated and within 7 weeks had climbed over 11 feet. I am just now seeing the flowers come on... but am extremely excited to harvest these. Thank you for introducing these to the catalog and for cultivating these so we can enjoy them as well!
