Annual. Flanders Poppy with a twist! The range of color runs from dusky rose to burgundy, combined with silvery stripes make each double bloom resemble antique silk. Unique and very choice! This was a show-stopper in our 2016 gardens.

What are the pros? Performed amazing

What are the cons? Wish they were perennials!

Review:

I was really excited to try these, though doubtful I would be able to grow them as I’ve failed at most other poppies. As the season went along, I got behind and, since it was getting late and I still hadn’t built the bed I was hoping to plant them in, I ended up just mounding some compost and topsoil on a brown paper bag over the pavement and planting in that, hoping for the best. Then the kids ran over it while playing, and I gave up on the idea of them surviving at all. I eventually built the bed around them. They grew wonderfully and are absolutely gorgeous! They look like something you would see in an expensive bouquet from a magazine! The petals almost look like velvet. There are tons of blooms, despite the little attention I gave them. These will definitely be a part of my garden each year! Next time, I plan to plant even more so I can trade with some of the many people who’ve asked me to do so because they love them as well!

They are more pink, we didn't get any purple or burgundy. They need a little support and are easy to grow. Very lovely flowers~ look silky

What are the pros? Graceful

What are the cons? Does not perform well in heat

Review:

Elegant plants that produced many velvetlike blooms. I grew mine indoors in peat pellets under lights. Most germinated in a week, and the germination rate was good. They need plenty of water as seedlings to grow healthy. I used some fertilizer as they got a bit bigger. They grow slowly for the first month, but soon after they begin to flourish. I had never grown poppies before, and I learned that they are tougher than they appear to be.
