What are the pros? Pretty plant, prolific

What are the cons? long growing season

We have tried growing these for several years as odd varieties take that much time to figure out the best way to get them to grow in our climate. First we tried them outside and they would never make it in time to set fruit. Then we tried them inside our hoop house starting them earlier. After a few years of trying this we would get loads and load of very large fruit but would never get anything that would seem ripe. We tried them at all stages but never could get one that tasted anything other then bland. The more we work with them the more I realized we probably just do not have the right climate here to make a good tasting fruit. I know climate has a lot to do with taste on a lot of things and I think anything other then a tropical climate will just give you bland fruit. As we cannot make this kind of climate in our operation we will not grow these again, but if someone has the right situation I think they would do great.
