(Lepidium sativum) Spicy, peppery taste, similar to watercress in flavor; ready for snacking in just 2 weeks. Can be grown on a windowsill; perfect in salads.

What are the pros? great for pollinators

What are the cons? taste

Review:

This does sprout fairly quickly, which was exciting. Sadly this is a tad too peppery for being treated as a "green" and should probably be treated more as a herb. it worked well with lamb but could easily over power a dish if you are heavy handed with it. I was a tad annoyed and ready to tear it until i noticed that hoverflies LOVE this stuff. I grow several plants just for pollinators and this will be another one. I might not enjoy this plants unique peppery taste but the pollinators that I desperately want in my garden do. Thus I will be growing this again just for them.

What are the pros? Easy to grow, 98% germ rates

What are the cons? No growing information

Review:

Grows quickly, First time growing this and it seems like a very light feeder, Not sure why I am having leaf curl at the moment, Backing of Nutrients at the is time, and raised grow light. Not sure if my leaf curling under is because of to intense of lights or To much Nitrogen or Over watered. Great Flavor, easy to grow, And seems to be a very light feeder. I am growing it indoors and for snaking may take 3 weeks worth of growth before worth picking any for a sandwich or what ever you wish to use it for.

What are the pros? The flavor

What are the cons? Fibrous after a few weeks.

Review:

Love the spicy flavor, it's hot enough to wake you up. Might take more like 3 weeks to grow. After it starts maturing, a bit too tough to be considered appetizing for most, doesn't bother me though. Easy to save seed from. Should be a go-to herb for getting over colds, also seemed to give a "power boost". Give them room or they are too small to be worth anything.

What are the pros? Spicy, Unique

What are the cons? Short-Lived

Review:

This is a very unique plant. It is a very sharp peppery taste which just doesn't seem possible from such a small, innocent looking plant. As the plant aged, it started to get a white powder on it and become less appetizing. It still tastes similar but it really does seem best to pick the plant young.
