This is the first cabbage I've grown. I admit that I was silly enough to think of cabbage as a relatively bland plant that probably wouldn't taste much different when plucked from my garden than it did when bought from the grocery store. WOW, is there a difference! This is absolutely delicious cabbage that had me scouring the garden to devour every leaf. It's forgiving, too. I'm new to year-round gardening in San Jose, and I put the seeds into the ground in mid-November. I still got beautiful, big heads of cabbage in the spring. It likes its water and didn't do as well in drip-irrigated plots, but even the smaller heads were jewels in flavor.
