What are the pros? Non-bolting like Spinach does
What are the cons? None
I will probably never bother growing spinach again, i.e. too much effort for such a short return.
It seems like every P. spinach seed germinated, so next time I won't expect needing to thin. I'm growing in a greenhouse, not outdoors. Despite (or maybe because of) the thick stand, very few pests are hiding within (earwigs, snails, slugs, grubs) as they do in Swiss chard. I like the taste better than chard, which I've been growing in huge quantity for 7 years, 12 months a year.
Have yet to see how the P. Spinach comes through winter, but fairly confident it will do fine -- arugula does.
