Very dwarf mixture of the crested French Marigolds; plants only grow to 10”-12” tall. Bright colors. Easy to grow, even in small pots.

What are the pros? Easy to grow, tons of flowers

What are the cons? Very large

Review:

Grew easily with tons of flowers & very large, healthy looking plats. Put along my garden and they are massive, more like the size of a mum. I would grow these again, but start indoors and transplant around my yard for huge beautiful flowers all summer long.

What are the pros? Attractive bushy variety

What are the cons? Bigger than expected

Review:

My grandmother always grew marigolds, and i was looking for cute petite marigolds for an edging for pest control. These grew so well and are great strong bushy type plants with multiple blooms, which is part of what I was looking for... not like the itty bitty single flower varieties you get at a nursery. I planted these in front of my strawberries to deter the bunnies, but they definitely grew MUCH bigger than expected. Most of them are easily 2 feet tall and dwarfed my strawberries! Luckily, the odd weather this year meant my strawberries were pretty pooped out by the time these grew tall enough to be an issue for them, but I will definitely be moving/not planting this variety in that particular location again. Definitely keepers for curb appeal though, as these are very attractive plants!

What are the pros? Blooms-when they FINALLY bloom

What are the cons? Massive height, slow to bloom

Review:

This was my first time growing marigolds (and first year starting anything from seed), and I'm so disappointed in these.10-12" my booty! All of my marigolds are 2' tall or taller! I direct planted these seeds around my raised vegetable beds to encourage pollinator visits with their bright, lovely blooms. I wish I hadn't bothered. They are all giant, and about 75% of them only decided to bloomed THIS week. It's the middle of August. They bloomed only after I had to pull some out of the ground since they were killing off my veggie plants. A fair number seem unable to withstand their bulk and have fallen over after our recent rains. I wish I had been more draconian with pruning; I just didn't know how bad it would get. I would only plant these again in a very open location.

What are the pros? Healthy beautiful plants

What are the cons? squash bugs loved them, too!

Review:

These marigolds were huge, beautiful and included a nice variety of bloom colors. However, since I planted them with squash in an attempt to deter squash bugs, I was very disappointed when my squash performed horribly. The marigolds grew so fast and shaded the squash too much. I got only a few squash this year whereas last year, I had a bountiful harvest from the same number and varieties of squash. The kicker is bugs were a problem as usual, and when I pulled up dead and dying squash plants, the bugs would migrate to the marigolds to hide! The final straw was when I saw 20 - 30 bugs camping out on a marigold. Next year I will plant marigolds elsewhere and hope for better results with my squash.

What are the pros? germ rate and flowers

What are the cons? they are huge

Review:

these marigold germinated amazingly. I bought them because I wanted a more compact marigold. However, these are definitely not compact. I have had to rip several out of the garden and continually have to prune the rest because they are taking over. However, they are a very strong plant and can "weather" anything. the only reason I'm not leaving a five star review is because they are not compact. I would say on average they are one and 1/2 feet tall.
