85 days. Beautiful big, oval, pointed fruit with a fine sweet old time flavor! Popular with old timers, a good all-purpose variety.

What are the pros? Heavy bearing, early ripening

What are the cons? None

Review:

First time growing these. Not as tasty as the Brandywines, but not a splitter and really prolific. Meaty, not a lot of seeds. Needs sturdy support for sure. We’ve been slicing them for supper for the last month, awfully good with basil and oil. Canned a bunch last weekend and we’ll see how the do come winter.

What are the pros? Shape and firm flesh

What are the cons? Bland flavor

Review:

First time growing this tomato and I don't recommend it. For me, it had horrible blossom end rot. This has been a very hot year and many of my tomatoes have had issues with blossom end rot but NOT like this tomato. Plus, they have almost no flavor. They do look beautiful and have firm flesh.

What are the pros? Huge, prolific, taste, pretty

What are the cons? Ugly vine, long to ripen

Review:

This was the most sickly looking vine of the 11 varieties of tomato I planted this year. All of the oxhearts were spindly and weak looking compared to the rest, but maybe because they put all their energy into producing huge beautiful tomatoes. They are the tallest and I will now have to start treating with extra calcium as they have begun to show signs of blossom end rot on some of the newest fruit set on. They are prolific, but slow to ripen. I have had some heavy rain and have not experienced any splitting from this variety. The taste is delicious. If you have the space it's worth the grow.

What are the pros? meaty, less seeds,

What are the cons? a little slow to mature

Review:

It is a very good tasting table slicer. But I have grown few varieties, that might be a tad better on a blind test. It is the number one tasting fried green tomato-- on this planet. None will beat it in a blind taste test. PS-- I have grown over 50 varieties through the years. Its tops in frying
