This elegant, pearly white variety is rooted in ancient history and still steals hearts and awards. 'Fosteriana' tulips originated outside the ancient city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Originally called White Emperor, this 1953 introduction possesses the wild 'fosteriana' genes, making it an easy naturalizer, and exceptionally rugged and long lived. Awarded garden of merit by the Royal Horticultural society for its dazzling blooms and carefree cultivation. Plants reach 10-12 inches tall, featuring frosty white blooms and silvery green foliage.
