Also known as the florentine tulip or woodland tulip. Incredibly ancient, these long living perennial bulbs are found growing wild across Europe dating back to their introduction in the 16th century. Their presence is often an indicator of ancient garden sites. The dainty, nodding blooms are a sunny buttercup yellow. These perrenialize easily and grow exceptionally well under the partial shade of trees. Blooms are sweetly fragrant and were grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello.
