A delectably diminutive lettuce with buttery soft texture and sweet crispy flavor. Its size, at just 3 to 4 inches across (about the size of a tennis ball), is a perfect single serving. Better yet, it is super easy to grow. This heirloom dates back to the 1850s, and with its impeccable flavor has been winning converts for over 150 years. We love this pint-sized variety for compact container gardens, raised beds, and multiple succession plantings.

Growing Tips: Tom Thumb is best grown at 60-80 F. Start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date or direct sow outdoors in early spring or late summer for fall harvest. It thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with plenty of organic matter, requiring 4-8 hours of sun daily. Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Sprouts form in 7-10 days, while the plant matures in about 60 days.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0999/2280/5022/files/lettuce_tom_thumb_4ebcc99b-1e38-4074-b2e2-992f509ad1f4.jpg?v=1782394891
