Mild flavor. Tender Skins. Beautiful enough for guests. Fast growing. One of the first things harvested from this years garden. We added another row for fall.

These red rounds did wonderful in our area (zone 7 blackland prairie), very prolific! I have so many seeds for next season!! They taste good raw or cooked, but have not tried pickled since we have neighbors that loved them too. Will plant these again.

I love red baby turnips. One way to eat them, besides raw and cooked, is to pickle it in white vinegar: it turns magenta! Looks great over salads.

This is a great turnip variety. I got some from Baker Creek and grew a dozen during the 2009 season. The best thing about garden fresh turnips is that the skins are easily peeled off rather than using a knife as with store bought (non-fresh) turnips. These red rounds look very cool and taste as good as the best fresh purple top I've eaten. Both varieties are watery and sweet when fresh out of the garden, Yummy!
