What are the pros? Fun to eat, amazing flavor!

What are the cons? None

Review:

This tomato is my new favorite. Every season I try several new varieties, searching for my perfect tomato flavor that takes me back to childhood. I remember and LOVE a tomato that bites back with that acidity that responds to a bit of salt in such a way, well, I can barely describe it but this tomato has fulfilled my wildest dreams and memories and will forever take center stage in my garden along with the most delicious Brandywine. I wouldn't say that it's sour, oh no, but the most lovely tart tanginess while exploding with tomato flavor. We love it!

What are the pros? high producer, fun shape

What are the cons? a bit sour

Review:

I've planted this one twice now and each time got bucketloads of bubbly-looking tomatoes I've had so many of them off of just a half dozen plants of this variety, I couldn't keep up with the picking and will likely end up with hundreds of volunteer plants in the spring from all the ones that fell off and rotted before I could get to them. The shape is a great conversation starter, for sure. The flavor is OK, a bit sour. It tends to ripen unevenly but you can just break off the ripe sections and save the rest to ripen later. They're a bit watery for sauce by themselves so we ended up chopping them up for freezer sauce mixed in with other tomatoes.

What are the pros? Great shape and taste

What are the cons? none

Review:

I really like this tomato. I think it tastes great, not lemony at all. I do like tart flavors, so maybe I just didn't notice the level of acidity. They are so uniquely shaped and I loved being able to basically tear them apart in chunks along their bumpy lines. It's like a big tomato comprised of many pear tomatoes stuck together. Definitely a keeper!

What are the pros? Started strong.

What are the cons? Never had a chance to try.

Review:

I had a bad experience trying to start these because I trusted an organic potting mix after initially starting seeds. They were thriving in my organic peat pots & starter soil. When they reached about 2"-3" I added an organic mix purchased at WalMart. At first things went well, but I began to notice they ceased to gain height. Then little mushrooms began to grow everywhere. The roots rotted completely & all seedlings died. I disposed of everything in the trash. Feared to try composting. The seeds all sprouted & seemed very healthy until the organic mix. Also planted Black Vernissage (freebie) that suffered same fate. Still have some Vernissage seeds & will try next year. Thinking about trying Reisetomate again. This floored me. Never had it happen before & was too far along in season to try from seed again. Was it the mushrooms? Could other fungus in the mix be the culprit?
