Rocky Top Lettuce Mix Salad Blend

This was a great mix for a first time gardener! I planted them in the beginning of June of 2017 and was eating them the entire time the grew! I tasted them as barely more than sprouts and they didn’t loose their flavor, of anything they thrived in their direct sun! On the hottest days when they were looking a bit down, they responded well to a misting and perked right back up! I didn’t traditionally sow them so much as sprinkle and ruffle and water! Low maintenance, I ate and thinned as necessary and collected quite a few seeds from a number of plants and will be sowing those in much the same manner as last year! I’m excited and looking forward to growing them again!

Planted these in an unheated hoop house in November. They survived several periods of freezing temperatures. Flourished with the longer days. This mix is delicious

Ordered this on a whim as I have plenty of lettuce/salad mix seeds. Planted a flat about two weeks ago and have it under grow lights with other starter seedlings. It is so happy that I had to take cuttings today for a salad to keep it under control. Will keep a flat of this growing year round.

Adam from Mountain View, CA expressed my thoughts exactly, "The whole reason I'm placing an order today is to get more Rocky Top mix. I went to the lettuce section, paged to the R's & no Rocky Top. A series of minor heart attacks over came me. Oh no, what will I do without this perfect lettuce? I looked again and there was a Salad Blends section. //whew// Calm restored. It really is the best lettuce blend I've ever grown. I'm buying 2 more packs."

This was the first year for me and lettuce. so some of this could be my fault... That being said. This mix grew exceptionally well. and had no pest problems.I was able to get a spring and a fall crop out of this variety easily. I did use a new bed that I had tilled and amended the previous fall. so it was the first crop grown in this space. they all tasted extremely bitter to both my wife and I. I will be trying another variety this year. Pros: Grows well in my area. Cons; I didn't like the taste. I would suggest this for a friend.I don't think it was the variety, I am really thinking it was a missing something or picked up something from our soil.( I looked so good too) I was very disappointed :(
