What are the pros? Hardy, large plants, prolific
What are the cons? none
In northern Arkansas we have many pest that destroy zucchini. This squash laughs them all off. I've had terrible problems with both Squash vine borers and squash bugs when growing other summer squashes. This one doesn't seem to be bothered with either pest. I've grown them twice and am growing them this year. I've had very good results both times. and I'll probably grow them every year now. The fruits are best when only apple sized. You'll get lots of them, too. They have a nutty flavor I like. The plants are quite big, they take over their row quickly. Large leaves keep weeds from being too big a nuisance by shading them. Cook them as you would any summer squash or zucchini.
