What are the pros? Very decorative
What are the cons? Not very good for pies.
I grew two pumpkins from BC this year, this one and the Ling Pie pumpkin.
After baking and scooping the winner is definitely the Long Pie. Much better texture: dense and firm and not stringy or watery. It has a more complex taste as well.
The Rouge Vif D' Etampes flesh is lighter in color, stringy, watery, and rather bland. They're very pretty but I grow food to eat.
