What are the pros? Disease resistance, flavor
What are the cons? Takes up a lot of space
This is an end-of-season update on my previous review. It's mid-September, and all my other summer squash and zucchini plants stopped producing weeks ago and are dead, mostly from mildew. Rugosa Friulana is still going strong and producing tasty squash. Some of the leaves are mildewed, but enough are still healthy and green to support squash. I'm very impressed with this variety's disease resistance. It does sprawl more than the typical summer squash, but worth the space since it's still producing 2-3 squash every 2-3 days.
