Hardy Pomegranate - This hardy and delicious pomegranate variety mostly hails from the homeland of the wild pomegranate, Turkmenistan. Central Asia is the center of diversity of pomegranates, these varieties boast cold hardiness, and a range of flavors and colors from pearly white to deep purple. The hardy pomegranate can be reliably grown in ground as far north as USDA zone 6, but they are also suitable for growing in large pots for those in far northern climates. Please consider these terms before ordering live plants: Most plants will be 3”-7” in height. Plants will ship as available after the first of March to the end of May. We will try to ship orders to southern zones first. No guaranteed exact delivery dates. Plants may arrive too early and have to be kept inside until the weather warms. Plants may arrive late, as well. Due to the sensitive nature of small plants, there is the possibility of a crop failure. If such a situation occurs, we will do our best to issue you a refund in a timely manner. Last minute losses can occur at any point in our shipping timeline, and we may have to issue a refund even late in the season. No orders shipped outside of the USA. (PRE-ORDER PLANTS WILL SHIP AFTER March 1, 2019)

What are the cons? Needs patience

Review:

Saying that I love pomegranates is the understatement of the century. Ever since seeing a tree with fruit on it, in the southern most tip of our climate zone, I have wanted my own, one way or another. I was thrilled to find these hardy varieties listed by such a reputable company. Obviously it will be a number of years before I can comment on the flavor and quality of the fruit. However, I felt it worth leaving a review to at least affirm that if you have the patience and inclination, you can expect two very respectable young plants with which to embark upon your own horticultural/gourmet quest. If you love pomegranates as much as I do, it is a no-brainer.
