Annual that self sows in the garden. This North American Native ornamental is super vigorous, thriving in poor, dry soil. Snow on the mountain quickly grows to the size of a large shrub in the course of one summer, creating a soft white cloud of variegated foliage. Thanks to its rapid growth habit and bushy nature, this is an ideal candidate for a quick natural hedge or background plant. CAUTION: The sap from this plant may cause skin irritation in certain individuals. Use caution when harvesting! Do not eat, as it is mildly toxic.

What are the pros? Pretty to look at...BUT....

What are the cons? Very invasive in Vermont

Review:

This is also known commonly as gout-weed, and as the other reviewer notes, "you only have to plant it once." This one is extremely hard to get rid of and is considered a noxious weed -- the sap has phytotoxic properties, so buyer beware.

What are the pros? Beautiful in groups, self seed

What are the cons? None

Review:

I have been growing these for years. You only have to plant them once. They self seed every year in zone 5 for me and the more mature they get, the prettier they are. Can't go wrong with these.
