Annual that self sows in the garden. This North American Native ornamental is super vigorous, thriving in poor, dry soil. Snow on the Mountain quickly grows to the size of a large shrub in the course of one summer, creating a soft white cloud of variagated foliage. Thanks to its rapid growth habit and bushy nature, this is an ideal candidate for a quick natural hedge or background plant. CAUTION: The sap from this plant may cause severe skin irritation in certain individuals. Do not eat, as it is mildly toxic. Do not handle plants.

What are the pros? Beautiful. Fast growing

What are the cons? Must be controlled

Review:

BEAUTIFUL but must be used with caution.. Can cause severe burns to the skin or even BLINDNESS. Is not something to have around your children or anyone because can be very dangerous to some people.

What are the pros? Beautiful

What are the cons? No

Review:

Snow on the Mountain is beautiful, hardy, easy to grow. A great addition to any landscape. I'm really worried about the beautiful little girl in the picture since the sap, even in fairly small amounts can cause blisters rashes and rather painful skin irritation. And if she has really sensitive skin, as is not uncommon for blue eyes people, she could have quite a bit of discomfort.

What are the pros? Pretty to look at...BUT....

What are the cons? Very invasive in Vermont

Review:

This is also known commonly as gout-weed, and as the other reviewer notes, "you only have to plant it once." This one is extremely hard to get rid of and is considered a noxious weed -- the sap has phytotoxic properties, so buyer beware.

What are the pros? Beautiful in groups, self seed

What are the cons? None

Review:

I have been growing these for years. You only have to plant them once. They self seed every year in zone 5 for me and the more mature they get, the prettier they are. Can't go wrong with these.
