What are the pros? Perfect size for 2 people
What are the cons? Not enough of them!
Planted in late March and harvested our first couple of squash in the first part of August. They are about the size of an acorn squash...perfect for 2 people. I hadn't a clue what to do with them, so I cut them in half, scooped out the pulp & seeds (saved a majority of the seeds). I put a pat of butter, some raw sugar and sprinkled lightly with cinnamon. I baked them flesh side up in a 350 degree oven (didn't time it, but I'm guessing 45 min).
The biggest surprise other than it tasted like a cross between a yam/sweet potato/squash was the fact that the skin turned out to be edible. It taste kind of like a sweet potato skin.
The bright bright orange color looked so pretty in the garden too. As for the size of the vine....it's like most other winter squash varieties in the sense that it needs space to do its thing. I planted one in a raised bed and was constantly fiddling with the vines to keep it out of my other plants. LOVED IT and will plant again next year
