70 days. The Vilmorins of France mentioned this variety in 1885 and said it had been grown a “long time” then. A large handsome variety with bright red-orange roots; smooth, 10”-12” long & 2”-3” in diameter. Sweet & tender. Rare. Our favorite!

What are the pros? Everything

What are the cons? Nothing

Review:

Flavor is AMAZING. High germination rates. High yields. Out performed every other variety I've grown. Some carrots were 2 lbs, yet still lovely and tender. We have a very challenging climate and this was amazing.

What are the pros? Reliable. Delicious.

What are the cons? N/A

Review:

I've been growing this variety for at least ten years. I try others but this is the staple in the garden. Germination for carrots is tricky because you can't let them dry out but this is most forgiving. I thin when they're about 10" high and water with an organic root stimulator a couple times. This helped them to be ready at just about 80 days. My carrots always seem to take long ... or maybe I'm just impatient. They're amazing. Always delicious and quite reliable.

What are the pros? Easy to grow, tastes great!

What are the cons? None

Review:

I gave St. Valery a try for the first time this spring and im pretty impressed with it! I got nice attractive carrots despite having clay based soil, and they even powered through having their leaves stripped by black swallowtail butterfly caterpillar. I think this is my Go To variety from now on, i have never had any other variety to perform so well for me!

Review:

These were so easy to grow - just plant them and forget about them. Very crisp, sweet flavor. They also stored in my refrigerator for months once I cured them.

What are the pros? Great taste!

What are the cons? none

Review:

This carrot is sweet and tastes great! It grew well in my clay loam soil, didn't have any insect damage (planted in spring), grew straight without branching, and is great as a snacking carrot. In fact, none of them made it into the house as I washed them off and ate them in the garden...
