Comfrey (2 PLANTS) MARCH-MAY. SHIPS PROMPT WEEKLY AS AVAILABLE.
Symphytum Comfrey- Hardy from USDA zones 3-9. A wondrous permaculture plant and interesting ancient medicinal from Europe. Historically known as knitbone, this herb has been used as a poultice to treat sprains and bruises. As a functional landscape plant, comfrey is often found as a companion plant at the base of trees, helping to feed the plant by mining minerals with its deep taproot. It is considered a compost activator, and adding it to your compost pile will help speed up the compost process. Please be aware that the FDA and FTC have banned the sale of comfrey medicinals, as they are believed to cause liver toxicity. This should remain a useful landscaping/permaculture plant and not to be ingested or used topically.
