Elephant Ear or Taro, Bun Long (2 Plants) March-May. Ships prompt weekly as available.
(Colocasia) One of the original "Canoe" plants of the ancient Hawaiians, is both an incredible food plant and rich source of ornamental beauty in the garden. (Warning: only eat this plant with proper preparations as it can be poisonous otherwise.) The variety we offer is generally hardy in zones 8-11, but is easy to grow almost any- where with winter protection. The Gettle family spent the winter in Hawaii and has become fascinated by the incredible diversity and usefulness of this amazing plant. We especially love the cooked greens! Grows well in moist soil and loves warmth. Some of these may only produce small tubers, but all produce abundant leaves! Please consider these terms before ordering live plants: Most plants will be 3”-7” in height. All plants will ship prompt weekly as available from the first of March to the end of May. Please make sure you are ready for your order in your zone as these young, tender plants generally have no resistance to cold. For any issues with your order please call our customer service and we will do our best to help you in a timely manner. No orders shipped outside of the USA.
