(Piper nigrum) Perhaps the most ubiquitous culinary spice, black pepper is native to South India. This tropical vine is considered quite prolific, after just a few seasons you can expect massive trusses of piquant peppercorns for harvesting! Long vines can reach 12 feet in length with glossy foliage make black pepper a sensational houseplant and are also suitable in the tropical landscape (of course you can keep your plant trimmed to a more compact length!). Hardy from USDA hardy zones 10-11, otherwise grown as a houseplant in climates that dip below 55 F. This perennial vine will bloom in its 2nd-3rd year of growth, bearing tons of nutritious peppercorns. Please consider these terms before ordering live plants: Most plants will be 3”-7” in height. All plants will ship prompt weekly as available from the first of March to the end of May.
