Citrus Plants
PLANT SHIPPING SEASON ENDED ON 5-31-24.
WE WILL BEGIN SHIPPING PLANTS AGAIN NEXT SPRING
This spring we will offer the Dekopon and the Flying Dragon orange (Poncirus trifoliata), or Trifoliate orange. This remarkably cold-hardy citrus will survive winters up through zone 5. Unlike other citrus types, it is deciduous and loses its leaves in the fall. Smaller than conventional oranges, the fruits are quite sour and are best cooked in marmalades or jams. Its compact growing habit makes it optimal as a base for grafts, and it does well in containers and can be pruned bonsai-style. In addition, we have a limited quantity of Dekopon plants for sale. They were grown in our Missouri greenhouses using Flying Dragon citrus as rootstock. Dekopons are super sweet, juicy, and easy to peel, and they are a coveted treat when they are in season! Each plant is about two feet tall.
