(Urtica dioica) Stinging Nettle is an herbaceous perennial native to Europe, Asia and North Africa. This amazing herb is grown and enjoyed around the world! Seeds are very tiny and require light for germination. Broadcast them in the spring and press lightly into the soil but do not cover. Cold stratification improves germination. Ideal germination temperature is 60-77F. Seeds germinate in 14 days. Nettles thrive in areas where the soil remains moist. It can become invasive; remove flowers to limit spread. Space plants 8 inches apart. Always wear gloves when handling stinging nettle.
