(Ipomoea purpurea) Our most asked-for flower in our 2008 trial gardens. A few vines covered the arbor over our garden gate. The flowers are so unique and stunning: they’re true double morning glories! They are fully double and uniquely shaped, plus they come in the most lovely shades of ruby-rose. This historic heirloom has long been out of catalogs due to the introduction of modern varieties, but this variety proves that some things can’t be improved!

What are the pros? Beautiful double flowers

What are the cons? None

Review:

I purchased both Sunrise Serenade and Split Second seeds for 2017 and sprouted the seeds again this year. They both have many beautiful double flowers. Split Second is one of the first morning glories to begin blooming and slows down in the heat of summer but produces a few more blooms again in cooler temps. Sunrise Serenade begins blooming later and puts on a beautiful show until frost. Together they flower constantly.

Review:

This morning glory was so easy to grow and it has at least 100 flowers open at a time right now. I started it in the spring inside and transplanded it when it was just a little vine. I gave it a shepherds hook to climb up along with a moonflower vine.it is stunning. It's so full you can't tell what's underneath it. I LOVE this beautiful morning glory!!!

Review:

I casually planted these as an experiment late in the season (mid July) by a sign post. These seeds took off! Within a week I saw seedlings and within a month they were climbing up the post. By September we had beautiful blooms that lasted until November. The neighbors all asked what these gorgeous flowers were.
