What are the pros? Great color range
What are the cons? none
The key to snapdragons from seed is to surface sow, do not cover. I've started these indoors & out, but prefer outdoors because the seeds are so tiny. They germinate quickly & a must-have for your cottage garden.

What are the pros? So pretty
What are the cons? Narrow color range
I've tried to grow snapdragons from seed before, but with barely any success. This time I sourced my seed from Baker Creek. I've never had so many snapdragons! The seeds germinated and grew just fine! I had so many plants I was having to give some away to friends and family! The pretty blooms had that wonderfully sweet smell that I wish I could wear as a perfume! The only two things that disappointed me was that none of my plants reached 3ft tall, and I didn't get as many colors out of them as I had hoped. I was really hoping for some deep reds and oranges like it shows in the picture, but most of what I got was pink, yellow and few white ones. However, I still have some leftover seeds from the packet that I am saving for next year. Maybe there's a red or orange one in there somewhere! I still appreciated my snapdragons anyway, and I recommend them to anyone who'd like to try them.

What are the pros? grows in full sun, color mix
What are the cons? nothing
I love everything about these. They were easy to germinate. I planted some in full sun and some in partial shade. They all grew really well and most bloomed first year. Now on second year and they haven't missed a beat. All have set buds.

What are the pros?

I've ordered this mix two years in a row and have had great success gowing them in my upcountry Maui, Hawaii garden. Flower spikes reach 3-4 ft in height and are a wonderful mix of bright colors.
