Annual. This cheery white denizen of cottage gardens since who-knows-when hardly needs an introduction! Tiny, snow-white flowers are produced by the hundreds on spikes reaching just a foot in height. The fragrance is just like honey! Tuck them at the edge of borders, or along walks. The small plants are also great in window boxes or in pots--anywhere their sweet scent may be savored!

What are the pros? Beautiful, bushy

What are the cons? I'm not a fan of the scent

Review:

These were very easy to grow from seed. I didn't think they'd do well after transplanting because they didn't do much growing for a couple of weeks, and then they took off! They've created a carpet of beautiful, maintenance-free plants that look gorgeous in my vegetable garden. What started as a few small plants now look like many large plants. The beneficial insects love these plants, too. It will definitely be a staple in my garden in future years.

What are the pros? Aroma is sweet and inviting!

What are the cons? Didn't buy enough seeds.

Review:

I planted this variety of sweet Alyssum in the crevices between my sidewalks and the cinder block wall of my home. My goal was to create beauty in a space that frequently grew weeds of all varieties. The Alyssum germinated quickly. The flowers provided months of fragrance that invited people into the garden as well as welcome people into our home! I plan to plant the entire length of our sidewalk next year!

What are the cons? not heat tolerant as a seedli

Review:

I bought these seeds because I thought it'd be cool to have tall alyssum and short alysumm in my planter. The short alyssum I bought from the store isn't doing half as well as this gorgeous tall alyssum. It grew almost instantly, and is now at the full foot in height. It's got a lot of bounce to it, which is good because it tends to fall over since it's so tall and it forms a sort of mound. It smells delicious and seems to be deer proof. The only thing I didn't like was how most of it died off during our early hot spell. Once it got going it was almost indestructible, but it's fragile while they're still seedlings

What are the pros? Super Fragrant and Tall

What are the cons? Wish I'd planted lots more ;-)

Review:

Located near Cleveland, about 2 blocks from Lake Erie. SFG raised beds with automatic watering. I was intrigued by this variety because it sounded like it would grow taller than the short sweet alyssum plants I usually purchase at the nursery, and they did! Around 12" tall, which was perfect for my closely-spaced square-foot gardens. They were also super fragrant and attracted bees and other helpful pollinators like parasitic wasps (which are harmless to humans and animals but lay their eggs in soft-flesh nasties like tomatoe hornworms and cabbage moth worms). I will absolutely include these in next year's garden plan and will at least double how many I put in this past year.

This packet was planted in an outdoor bed by my granddaughter on a Thursday and they were popping up everywhere on Sunday! If you are in need of almost instant gratification... how about 4 days!!! Cannot wait to smell the blooms on these little magic plants.??
