What are the cons? Poor germination
Very poor germination compared to all other cabbage varieties I started. Started indoors and germ rate at room temp was around 20% and those that did germinate did slower than other varieties. Not sure if it was a bad batch or just the variety.
However, once transplanted and established in the fall (October) cabbage formed leaves quickly and filled out before winter. Over wintered just fine with no mulch (lowest temp of the winter was 20 F) and formed a firm, tight head by March. Flavor was excellent raw and good pickled.
