Edible blue flowered vining plant native to Southeast Asia. Gorgeous, huge, double blue blooms make a natural food dye and soothing tea to calm the nerves. This double flowered type was found in Thailand, where the blooms are used to dye everything from teas to rice and desserts. A gorgeous ornamental edible flower, the vines are are smothered in dazzling indigo petals. Our favorite kid friendly drink; when you add a drop of lemon to the deep blue tea, the color instantly turns a bright pink, like magic!

What are the pros? Beautiful plant.

What are the cons? Nothing to dislike about it.

Review:

Gorgeous plant!! I started this in the herb garden. When I seen the gorgeous deep blue color of the flowers I moved it to a starring position in the front of the house where everyone can admire it. I admit that I haven't tried the tea yet. It's too pretty to pluck them off. I hope this will reseed itself and expand my crop so I can pick the blossoms a little faster next year.

What are the pros? Great plant, easy to grow

What are the cons? Can’t grow flowers fast enoug!

Review:

The dislikes was a joke! Very abundant in blooms! We harvest several blooms from one vine, made the tea, the kids drank it without any complaints. I will definitely be growing this again!

What are the pros? Bright Beautiful Color

What are the cons? None

Review:

I planted this plant too late in the season. It was uprooted by a bird who kept insisting to dig for worms in this spot. I also planted it in too much shade. Despite this it is still blooming. It has not gone up much on the trellis but it looks healthy and pretty in our zone in Ontario. I cannot bring myself to remove flowers for other use.

I used a nail file to scar the seeds, soaked them for 24 hours and they started sprouting in a few days. I'm excited to watch them grow!

What are the pros? Sprouts quickly

What are the cons? Having to scar the shell

Review:

Im so excited to add this variety to my garden this Spring! I soaked my seeds for 24 hours. Then I used a razor to scar the outer shell. VERY HARD little buggers! Anyways my seeds sprouted within a week. Growing great in my greenhouse here in MI. Will transplant when the weather breaks and post another review.
