What are the pros? Huge yeilds, Hardy, prolific

What are the cons? None

Review:

I love these tomatillos. We planted one in the ground and one in a pot. The one in the pot is producing smaller fruits, but it doesn't even matter because there's so many. Super easy to grow. Great production. Makes amazing salsa.

What are the pros? resilient, prolific

What are the cons? bugs loved them

Review:

These took a while to get going but each time I thought they were goners, they bounced back. The seedlings were pretty pitiful and fragile looking, then the flea beetles feasted on the transplants. They are currently over six feet tall and producing multiple handfuls of fruit a day per plant. The bugs still love them, especially the potato beetles but they seem to be unstoppable. They're also duking it out in a bed with some aggressive tomato plants and even though they bend over and get smothered, they're still going strong. One thing to note is that the fruit are definitely smaller than the tomatillos you find in most grocery stores. Most are an inch or an inch and a half in diameter. Will definitely grow these again.

What are the pros? Easy to Grow, High Yield

What are the cons? None

Review:

I planted these a couple of years ago from seed. I planted 3 seeds and somehow ended up with 6 plants haha! They were very prolific, incredible yield and easy to grow. I learned that year that I can't plant the tomatillos next to the tomatoes because they'll drown out the tomatoes. Was extremely satisfied with flavor and speed.

What are the pros? Abundance

What are the cons? Nothing

Review:

I was surprised how prolific these were. I grew several of these in a 4 x 4 raised bed with onions and various greens. I had so many fruits that I had to freeze them. Each week starting in July I’d get a basketful.

Review:

I was not expecting a large bounty of tomatillos this far north but was beyond surprised that I was cursing them by the end of the growing season. They were literally growing faster than I could pick them. I had to give pounds and pounds of them away to friends and husband's co-workers who now want to grow their own. Thank you Baker Creek for offering your stellar products!
